Love is everywhere

Yesterday, snuggled up next to Sammy, I woke up to messages that made me both smile and cry. It was an interesting way to start the day and decided a loooong walk to a local park was a must. There, on a blustery cloudy morning, I found a quiet spot next to a lake. The dogs happily laid in the grass and for a couple minutes I sat there, meditating. I tried my hardest not to focus on anything but my breath. Focusing on that moment. When I opened my eyes and looked down this bright heart shaped leaf was next to me. Love is everywhere.

After a couple hours, I made it back and found this lovely surprise brunch my mom made. Gluten free pancakes with fruit. How cute is this? On Saturday we headed to Loveland, CO to check out the festival and spent Sunday relaxing and just enjoying time together. After a delicious dinner I headed downtown to celebrate with some amazing new Denver friends.

I hate putting people in categories: in a relationship, married or single. Instead of single here’s how I look at it… those who are chasing their dreams, those who were strong enough to leave relationships that weren’t working for whatever reason, those who are prioritizing themselves and what they want, those who are happy and content, those who won’t settle or stay stuck.

“You know that crazy heart of yours? The one with lightning crackling and moonlight shining through it. The one you’ve been told not to trust because it often led you off the beaten path. The one so many have misunderstood your entire life. Trust it. Feed it. Grow it. It’s your greatest treasure and will point the way to your highest destiny. It is the voice of your soul.” ― Jacob Nordby

For the first time in 8 years I was single on February 14th. Crazy. To be honest, I’ve always thought Valentine’s Day was a rather silly holiday. You should celebrate love (from relationships to family and friends) throughout the year, not just on one particular day. Even though it’s silly it was still somewhat emotional.

Valentine’s Day started and ended with snuggles with Sammy, who always gets the last red lipstick kiss.

Something to remember

Sometimes it feels like there are so many things we can’t control, but it’s important to remember the things we can — like forgiveness, fresh starts, friendships, relationships and filling your life with what makes YOU feel alive and happy.

“We are all born whole and complete. We are all born overflowing with love, love for ourselves and love for the world around us, and the more we learn to honor ourselves by embracing, accepting and loving all that we are, the easier it will be for us to experience this truth.” Full post here

… how good is that? Don’t look for someone to complete you, you are already complete and full of love. If you’re going through a hard time I highly recommend checking out that post by the always inspiring Luminita, founder of Purpose Fairy.

No matter your situation, I hope you’re surrounded by love and are celebrating, today and everyday!

I am so incredibly grateful for the people I’ve been meeting lately. It’s refreshing when you find those you just click with right away. The whole week was filled with events (literally every day), new friends and wonderful memories.

How was your Valentine’s Day?
