August 19: Photography. Passion. Purpose. Perspective.
Did you know today is World Photo Day? I couldn’t be happier to celebrate the art of photo taking.
You can always find me with at least one camera. Just the other day someone asked why I was using a compact camera instead of my phone. As I mention on the photography page Traveling near or far, I am inspired by the little details, fleeting moments, characters, smiles and sensory explosions that bring a destination to life. Every day offers new adventures and chances to capture + freeze those awe-inspiring moments.
I feel like my mind is trained to look at things differently because I take tons of pictures. From the perfect lighting to a unique composition, I am always looking around which allows me to be very aware of where I am in that moment. Who else feels like this?
Capture + Create + Connect + Change.
Why Celebrate Photography?
“Photography surrounds us in every moment and yet, we often don’t realise how powerful the images we capture every day can be.
Today, we can share memories across the globe in seconds. Photography is an invention that has revolutionised the way we see the world. We can visit places without leaving our home. We can share adventures with friends in another city and we can watch grandchildren grow up thousands of kilometers away.
There was a time when photography didn’t exist.”

Savor Life Intensely.
To those who still own + constantly use a camera not attached to their phone. To those who stay up chasing that stunning sunrise, sunset and/or night shot. To those who wander and explore. Cheers to you. Continue to freeze time and keep the pictures coming!
