Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016 A new year symbolizes a clean slate; a fresh start. Leaving the past behind and embracing the magic of new beginnings and possibilities. We let go of all regret and failure from the year behind us, and fill our lungs with hope for the future. Go forward with your vision even if no one else sees it but you. I have always enjoyed checking things off a list, turning the page and starting fresh. There is something refreshing about a new day, a new month, a new year. This year however, I have decided instead of making a New Year’s resolution I will make New Year’s Affirmations… “For last year’s words belong to last year’s language ...

Happy Holidays December consisted of nights out, get togethers, decorating and baking. With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it’s good to remember that what is really important is spending time with the people you love. A Merry Little Christmas Growing up Christmas was always a large gathering of my moms family in New York. Last year I went to New York for Thanksgiving and spent Christmas with my dad and brother in Maryland. This year it was just my mom and I (and the dogs of course) in Colorado. It is always wonderful being around family during the holidays, but to be honest I find it is often stressful and a little chaotic. The last two ...

One of the things I was most excited about moving to Colorado in September was exploring in fall. The air is crisp and cool. The vibrant aspen trees cover the landscape mountains in yellow and the sun creates a golden glow over the mountains. Yes, most people here are excited for snow because it means skiing/snowboarding, but I will admit winter is not my favorite season. “Autumn…the year’s last, loveliest smile.” ― William Cullen Bryant September I moved the first weekend in September and a week later was off to California with my sister for a belated birthday trip. While there wasn’t too much time in Colorado to explore I did have an impromptu day trip to Vail. Aspens + ...

December 7, 1941 “A date which will live in infamy.” ― Franklin D. Roosevelt Growing up in the United States we are taught all about the attack at Pearl Harbor in history classes. We know just before 8am on December 7, 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. In just two hours the Japanese destroyed 20 American naval vessels, including 8 battleships, and 300+ airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors lost their lives in the attack with another 1,000 wounded. We know this led to President Franklin D. Roosevelt declaring war on Japan. America joined World War II. Seeing Pearl Harbor in person Today, December 7th, is a day to remember. With tragic ...
